CHARLIE JADE: Quick Programming Note

17 March 2011
by R.A. Porter

Looks like Syfy has one or two fewer wrestling shows or infomercials available to air. They’re going to be rebroadcasting Charlie Jade starting tonight/tomorrow morning at 5am EDT and (apparently) weekly in that prime spot.

Friday mornings at 5am. Boy do they know how to show the love for science fiction over there.

Saving Grace sets date for conclusion

savinggrace
As much as I love Holly Hunter, I never did get into Saving Grace. However, I know some of my readers are fans and will be saddened by this news.

TNT will conclude the fascinating journey of Oklahoma City Police Det. Grace Hanadarko in 2010, when the network’s groundbreaking original series SAVING GRACE will come to an end. SAVING GRACE will wrap up with a nine-episode run planned for next summer. The provocative drama stars Oscar® winner Holly Hunter (The Piano), who this year received the second of two consecutive Emmy® nominations for her no-holds-barred performance. Hunter also serves as executive producer of SAVING GRACE, along with show creator Nancy Miller (Any Day Now), Gary A. Randall (Any Day Now, Leaving L.A.) and Artie Mandelberg (Leaving L.A., Mr. & Mrs. Smith). For its current summer run, which ends Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), the show has averaged more than 3.5 million viewers and ranks first in its time period among viewers, households, adults 25-54 and women 25-54.

Episode 109 - The 12-Step Job

Very short, very quick note to all the people who were looking for the song that opened the episode “The 12 Step Job” of Leverage, it’s been posted for your pleasure, along with a little more background on it, at iFMagazine.com.

Leverage returns to TNT this summer; we’ll be reviewing it as always.

Call for Writers

10 March 2009
by R.A. Porter

We are always looking for new contributors here at DreamLoom, right now more than ever. See, I’m about done with TV I’d write about for the next couple of months unless one of the new shows coming up really grabs me hard. Leverage and Burn Notice are off until the summer, Friday Night Lights is winding down its season, and even if I wrote about BSG…well…there are only three hours left!!!

I don’t think I’ve got any shows in my queue until July.

I’m planning on doing some different things in the interim – reviewing DVD collections, longer critical pieces on some older shows, maybe doing a deep critical breakdown of Burn Notice as I write a new spec episode – but that’s not going to fill the week. Kari’s going to be done with BSG soon and that’ll just leave us with her excellent Flight of the Conchords reviews unless she feels some love for anything else on the air. And Tawnya is still mourning Dirty Sexy Money, I think.

So, if you’ve got something to say about something we don’t…why don’t you contact us with a writing sample and some ideas on what you’d like to write for us at submissions(nospam)@dreamloom.com.

Welcome to the Loom

There are a lot of websites, group blogs, personal blogs, and insane scratchings on restroom walls about television. We hope this site will be different from those.

We want to engage more people in a conversation about TV, at least the TV we care about. What that means is that I’m not going to ever write a review about Survivor. I don’t watch it; it doesn’t interest me. But it probably interests one of our other writers (they’re coming, I swear.) So someone is likely to write about a show you love.
