Pushing Daisies Might Finish in Comics

Slice of SciFi is reporting that Bryan Fuller has presented his plans for the second half of the season to ABC execs and is waiting for the pickup. But if the network passes, he plans to complete the story arcs in comics.

As the show is a WB production, Fuller anticipates that would mean DC (or possibly the Vertigo imprint) which unfortunately doesn’t fill me with the cozy, bubbly feeling you get from a warm slice of triple-berry pie a la mode. DC’s track record with comics is…well they canceled my favorite title this week, so I’m probably not the guy to be talking to about this…but if they need Ned to bring back Bats after the end of the Batman: R.I.P event finishes, I guess DC would use him once.

Once.

Everyone clap your hands together and say “pick up the show, pick up the show, pick up the show!”

Quickly, before DiDio hears about all this and preemptively kills the Pushing Daisies comic because it’s not tied into Final, Last, Really, We mean it this time, Counting Down now, Seriously, Look Out! It’s a Black Lantern!!! or whatever the latest mega event piece of crap they’re selling to their dwindling fan base these days.
