Surprised nobody has mentioned how SciFi Network chopped off the opening tease scene along with the theme/intro piece (which I really love and look forward to). Their telecast picked up with the opening act at the crime scene with Blues trying to piece it all together. Rick mentions in his review (strong, as always) that the dead girl was a Gemma lookalike. However, it was clearly the same actress who played Gemma, as we saw when Blues turned the body over. Alex mentions the same thing (lookalike) in his podcast, but I saw nothing that would indicate that in the telecast I saw. Perhaps that information was made clear in the opening tease that was dropped from this telecast...?

Add me to the list of those who don't care for the repeated lines of dialog. Bad directorial choice and unnecessary when you have a cast this accomplished. But that's a minor quibble. I'd much rather see the scene that SciFi chopped out; that's a major quibble.

Obviously, considering the treatment SciFi has given this great series, we really, really need a Region 1 DVD release of Charlie Jade. I'm wondering, since it's a widescreen production, if they originally filmed the show using HD cameras.... which would give hope for a blu-ray version someday...? But I'd happily settle for a plain ol' R1 DVD set. I do love this show.

Sorry about the double post, but I wanted to make sure @IDR got my reply...

I believe, and I could be wrong, that those little time jitters, where a line of dialog is repeated quickly, were a directorial choice. And they've used them all along, though it's possible the frequency picked up.

Best episode thus far!

During the first few minutes I almost thought my DVR had accidentally recorded an international version of Law & Order or CSI: Cape Town.

I like the addition of character Blues Paddock and with the new writing team, Jeffrey Pierce does some of his best work yet. The interrogation room scene with Blues and Charlie was a great cat and mouse interchange. And finally 01 and Charlie get to spend some quality time together. Much better than seeing Charlie in these types of scenes than just sitting around brooding, doing solo recon work or on a stake out.

Was it just me or did Reena's dream have a "Twin Peaks" quality to it? Disturbing stuff.

Only criticism… since the new writing staff took over, there seem to be more of these short, quick repeated scenes or lines of dialog as if to emphasize the point. It's a little annoying but easily overlooked.

You should definitely check out the commentary for this week's episode over at Charlie Jade Verse. Alex Epstein explains why this episode is so much better than the ones prior, and waxes about how awesome Rolanda Marais is.

Since the new writer's took over, this show is just getting better. I was intruiged by the earlier episodes, but not particularly excited. Now that's all changed.

It's virtually impossible to imagine Boxer and Charlie as allies, but next week we'll find out what those 12 reasons are. I suspect I'll be rather shocked at the revelations.

Favorite Line: Blues Paddock after immediately sniffing out the second fake transfer attempt on Boxer: "Isn't anyone a cop around here?"
